Former New Orleans Saints defensive back and kick return specialist Tyrone Hughes will appear at the Saints Hall of Fame Museum on Monday, Sept. 30 prior to the New Orleans Saints vs. Miami Dolphins game.
Hughes will be available for autographs and pictures from 5:30 p.m.-6:50 p.m. in the museum, located at Gate B on the Plaza Level of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
A native New Orleanian who prepped at St. Augustine and played at Nebraska, Hughes was drafted by his hometown Saints in the fifth round of the 1993 draft.
He played for the Saints from 1993-1996 before playing for the Chicago Bears in 1997 and the Dallas Cowboys in 1998.
Hughes earned Pro Bowl honors in 1993 as a member of the Saints. He holds the NFL record for most kickoff return yards in a single game (304) and the NFL record for the most combined kickoff/punt return yards in a game (347). Hughes returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in that same game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 23, 1994 which tied an NFL record.
Anyone with a ticket to the game will be admitted free of charge to the museum on game day. The Saints Hall of Fame Museum is open three hours prior to game time and for 45 minutes following each home game.
