After making the club’s opening day roster as an unheralded, undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M in 2013 following a tryout at the club’s rookie camp and an impressive preseason, Khiry Robinson has been a key element in the Saints ground game over the past two seasons. He’s played in 20 games with three starts and carried 130 times for 586 yards (4.5 avg.) with four touchdowns. Despite a forearm injury that sidelined him for six games in the middle of the season, Robinson played in 10 contests with three starts and finished second on the team with 362 yards rushing and three touchdowns in 2014.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS – Signed by Saints, 5/13/13.

2014 – Played in 10 games with three starts and finished second on the Saints in rushing, carrying 76 times for 362 yards (4.8 avg.) with three touchdowns and also adding eight receptions for 63 yards…Made his first career start vs. Minnesota, Sept. 21 and rushed 18 times for 69 yards, both career-highs…Robinson carried the ball eight times for 87 yards, including a career-long 62-yard run in the fourth quarter, at Dallas, Sept. 28. He also added two catches for 18 yards…Robinson capped off a 12-play, 80-yard drive in overtime vs. Tampa Bay, Oct. 5 with an 18-yard touchdown run to give New Orleans a 37-31 win. It was part of a day where he carried 21 times for a career-best 89 yards…Saw his most significant action since his injury in season finale at Tampa Bay, Dec. 28 and his one-yard TD put New Orleans on the scoreboard.  2013 – Originally signed following after participating on a tryout basis at the club’s post-draft rookie camp, played in 10 regular season games and had 54 carries for 224 yards (4.1 avg.) with one touchdown and two special teams tackles, following a preseason where he led the club in rushing and receiving and led the league in rushing and total yards from scrimmage (331) when he carried 49 times for 228 yards (4.7 avg.) and posted 11 receptions for 103 yards (9.4 avg.). Played in both postseason contests with one start as he split lead back duties with Mark Ingram, carrying 21 times for 102 yards with one touchdown and a 13-yard reception…After being inactive for the first two contests, made NFL debut vs. Arizona, Sept. 22, when he carried four times for 38 yards…Carried 12 times for 37 yards and added one special teams tackle vs. Miami, Sept. 30…Saw action on offense and rushed seven times for team-best 53 yards with first career touchdown on a one-yard rush at New England, Oct. 13…Also inactive for contests at N.Y. Jets, Nov. 3, vs. Dallas, Nov. 10, vs. San Francisco, Nov. 17 and at Seattle, Dec. 2…In regular season finale vs. Tampa Bay, Dec. 29, rushed 12 times for 50 yards, including a 25-yard run…Made his postseason debut in NFC Wild Card Playoff at Philadelphia, 1/4/14 and carried eight times for 45 yards, including rushing three times for 22 yards to kill the clock and move into the field goal range on the final game-winning drive…Received his first career NFL start in NFC Divisional Playoff at Seattle, 1/11/14, when he rushed 13 times for 57 yards with one touchdown, leading team in rushes, rushing yards and rushing TDs. Also had a 13-yard reception.

COLLEGE - In two seasons at West Texas A&M after transferring from Blinn (Texas) Junior College, rushed for 2,290 yards and 26 touchdowns and caught 60 passes for 612 yards (10.2 avg.) and six touchdowns…In 2012, named to the D2Football.com All-America team and was recognized as first-team All-Conference as he led the Buffaloes and Lone Star Conference with a school-record 1,621 yards on the ground with 15 touchdowns while also adding 38 receptions for 430 yards (11.3 avg.) and four touchdowns…In 2011, carried 103 times for 669 yards and 11 touchdowns while also catching 22 passes for 182 yards and two scores…Majored in sports & exercise science.

PERSONAL - Prepped at Belton (Texas) HS, earning All-District and All-Centex honors…Also lettered in track & field...Participated in a team Christmas bike and toy giveaway with the United States Marines at the practice facility in 2013…Born December 28, 1989.
