2015 – Played in eight games with one start and serving as club’s holder for field goal and PAT attempts before being placed on Injured Reserve (back) and completed 32-of-39 passes (81.6%) for 335 yards, one interception and a 91.8 passer rating…Made his 10th career start, first as a Saint and first since 2011 in place of an injured Brees (shoulder) at Carolina, Sept. 27. Completed career-high 31 passes on career-high-tying 38 passes for 310 yards with one interception. After completing 13 passes in the first quarter, eclipsed a previous career-high of 11 completions in an opening quarter. 16-of-17 for 124 yards in the first half, with his 94.1% completion percentage the highest by a Saints QB in the first half since 1991…At Indianapolis, Oct. 25, completed his only pass attempt on successful fake field goal attempt for a 25-yard completion to the Colts one-yard line to set up a touchdown. In the preseason, completed 24-of-35 passes for 323 yards (68.6%) with three touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 126.3 passer rating. 2014 – Played in all 16 games, serving as Brees’ backup and holding for all PAT and field goal attempts…In the preseason, completed 26-of-43 passes (60.5%) for 240 yards with three touchdowns, one interception and a 89.3 passer rating. 2013 – Played in all 16 regular season games and both postseason contests, serving as Brees’ backup and holding for all PAT and field goal attempts…Threw an incomplete pass on a fake punt attempt at Carolina, Dec. 22…In the preseason, completed 32-of-49 passes (65.3%) for 378 yards with four touchdowns, one interception and a 107.4 rating. 2012 – Appeared in two games for Atlanta in relief of Matt Ryan after joining the team at conclusion of the preseason, which he spent with New Orleans. 2011 – Appeared in four games with two starts for Jacksonville, completing 30-of-56 attempts for 296 yards with four interceptions in addition to rushing seven times for 23 yards…Started season opener and completed 17 passes on 24 attempts for 175 yards, also rushing five times for 10 yards vs. Tennessee, Sept. 11…Appeared in relief of Blaine Gabbert and completed 7-of-11 passes for 62 yards vs. Houston, Nov. 27. 2010 – Appeared in one contest, completing 11-of-19 passes for 120 yards in addition to a four-yard rush at San Diego, Sept. 19, suffering a season-ending knee injury at the end of the game. 2009 – Played in three contests and completed one-of-three passes for two yards for Jacksonville. 2008 – Played in two contests in his final season in Tampa Bay and attempted one pass. 2007 – Appeared in five games with three starts, completing 94-of-139 passes for 1,009 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions for a 91.7 passer rating…Started and completed 29-of-37 passes for 313 yards with two touchdowns at New Orleans, Dec. 2…Threw for 266 yards, completing 25 passes on 38 attempts at Houston, Dec. 9…Despite not starting, completed 18-of-32 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown at San Francisco, Dec. 23…Started and completed 21-of-28 passes for 236 yards with two touchdowns vs. Carolina, Dec. 30. 2006 – Began season on Physically Unable to Perform list with a partially torn ACL suffered during offseason and did not see any action. 2005 – Inactive for first 10 weeks of season and dressed but did not play the remainder of the year. 2004 – Started four of the five games he appeared in for the Browns, completing 48-of-98 passes for 608 yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions…Completed 20-of-34 passes for 277 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions vs. New England, Dec. 5…Completed 11-of-27 passes for 108 yards vs. San Diego, Dec. 19…At Miami, Dec. 26, completed nine-of-16 passes for 161 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
COLLEGE – Appeared in 44 games with 43 starts at Louisiana Tech…Set school career records for completions (1,088), attempts (1,827) and passing yards (12,994)…Threw 88 touchdowns, the eighth-most in Division I history at the time he departed…As a senior, completed 246-of-432 passes for 3,246 yards with 19 touchdowns…Completed 296-of-505 passes for 3,539 yards with 19 touchdowns as a junior…Threw for 3,655 yards with 29 touchdowns as a sophomore, completing 302-of-521 passes…As a freshman, completed 244-of-369 passes for 2,544 yards with 21 touchdowns.
PERSONAL – Attended Jacksonville (Texas) HS…Two older brothers Randy and Josh both played quarterback. Randy was a starter for Texas A&M from 1997-99 and Josh played at SMU and Sam Houston State and was a third-round draft pick by Arizona in 2002, who has played for Arizona, Detroit, Oakland, Miami, Carolina, San Francisco, Chicago, Tampa Bay and currently Cleveland…McCown and his family have supported faith-based events and charitable endeavors of his teammates in New Orleans, as well as those supporting the needy.
