NFL CAREER – One of the club’s two third round draft picks in 2013, Armstead took over the starting left tackle duties in week 16. In the final regular season contest and two playoff games, the Saints gave up only four sacks and averaged 129.7 yards per game on the ground.

COLLEGE – Competed in football and track and field at Arkansas-Pine Bluff…Played in 37 career games, starting his final 32 contests at left tackle…Totaled 314 knockdowns, also working to become an eight-time champion for the track and field team and earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference and All-American honors as a senior…Stood out at the Senior Bowl and impressed scouts by running the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.71) by an offensive lineman in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine….Named to FCS All-American first-team as senior and was a member of the All-American Sleeper Team compiled by The NFL Draft Report, earning All-SWAC honors for the third consecutive season…Opened all 12 games at left tackle and recorded 118 knockdowns and 47 TD-resulting blocks to help his team finish 10-2…Part of a line that only allowed 23 sacks and led league in rushing (200.3 ypg.)…Helped offense reach over 500 yards in three contests…Named by coaches to the All-SWAC first-team as junior as he opened 10 games at left tackle and produced 90 knockdowns and 10 TD blocks, ranked first for blocking efficiency in FCS ranks…As sophomore, opened 10 games at left tackle and received All-SWAC first-team honors in first year as starter…Blocked for an offense ranked second in SWAC (385.2 ypg.)…Part of a line that only allowed only 28 sacks and paved the way for four outputs of more than 450 yards…As freshman, played in five contests while being subbed in and out with the first and second teams…Majored in industrial technology with an emphasis in technology engineering.
PERSONAL – Attended Cahokia (Ill.) HS…Grew from a 6-2, 250-pound offensive lineman as a junior to a 6-4, 300-pound senior…Led Comanches to an 11-2 record and league title as an All-Southern Seven Conference and All-Class 5A selection as senior…Also competed in track and field and was named the News-Democrat Class 1A-2A track and field Athlete of the Year while also earning a state title…Has visited pediatric and cancer infusion patients at Ochsner Medical Center...Along with teammates, donated funding and helped distribute 1,000 Thanksgiving meals to local families in need at Dryades YMCA…Also participated in an NFL Play 60 Super School visit at Green Park Elementary in Metairie, participating with students during their Play 60 Ultimate Physical Education Class…Born July 23, 1991.
