Palmer, 5 feet 11, 178 pounds, was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2013 out of North Carolina State. After making one receptions for six yards, returning five punts for 34 yards and bringing back one kickoff for 14 yards in the 2013 preseason, the Pittsboro, N. C., native appeared in one regular season game for the Jaguars and also had two stints on their practice squad. He spent most of the 2014 offseason with the San Diego Chargers. In two seasons at North Carolina State after transferring from Georgia Military College, Palmer’s career college totals included 91 receptions for 1,277 yards (14.0 avg.) for 11 touchdowns. As a senior in 2012, he started all 13 games and made a team-high 54 catches for 781 yards (14.5 avg.) and six touchdowns.
